Seasonal Schools

The Adult Education Academy ‘International and Comparative Studies for Students and Practitioners in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning’ will take place in Würzburg each February. It is dedicated to analysing and comparing international and European strategies in lifelong learning.

University of Verona, Department of Human Sciences

This Winter School will consider theories and methods relevant across the field of educational policy research. It is designed for PhD students, postdoctoral fellows and researchers of policy in all areas of education, but is suitable also for advanced master students. The School will include an explicit focus on policy related to higher and adult education, but the specific content of activities will be developed in the light of the participants’ profiles.

The European Study and Research in Adult Learning and Education (ESRALE) project is carrying out Summer Academys to promote teachers' and students' mobility and offer opportunities for comparison and research in the field of Adult Education.

The International Master in Adult Education for Social Change (IMAESC) is intended for students wishing to pursue a career in adult education and as preparation for further academic study through a PhD programme. Graduates will be equipped with the academic knowledge, research skills, and practical employability skills through this jointly developed and delivered programme. IMAESC brings together European and international universities, VET institutions, private companies, community-based organisations and policy units.

This joint degree is delivered and awarded by four partners within the consortium: the University of Glasgow, the University of Malta, the Open University of Cyprus and Tallinn University.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports exchanges of scientists and academics between German and foreign universities. The basis of these exchanges are cultural exchange programmes and bilateral agreements with foreign partner organisations. Participants have to have a completed doctoral degree and work at a university or research institute in their home country.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) grants provide foreign academics and scientists with an opportunity to carry out research and continue their education in Germany. There are funding programmes for various qualification phases and stages in a career.The aim of this particular programme is to support short-term research stays and thus promote the exchange of experience and networking amongst colleagues.

A Humboldt Research Fellowship for postdoctoral researchers allows researcher from abroad with above average qualifications, at the beginning of their academic career and only completed their doctorate in the last four years to carry out long-term research (6-24 months) in Germany. Applicants choose their own topic of research and their academic host.
