We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Balázs Németh (University of Pécs, Hungary) will stay at the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education at JMU during the winter term 2021/2022.

Prof. Dr. Balázs Németh is an internationally highly recognized researcher in the field of adult and continuing education. Not only is he the President of the European network for scientific further education [EUCEN] and the Managing Director of the Hungarian Network for Lifelong Learning, he is also  member of the International Hall of Fame of Adult and Continuing Education at the University of Oklahoma. We are pleased that he will share his great expertise with us in the upcoming semester.

Prof. Németh will offer two regular SEMINARS, one HYBRID SEMINAR and one PUBLIC LECTURE. Thematically, the courses include an exploration of the “International Environment - History and Politics of Adult Learning and Education” (#hybrid), the opportunity to dive deeper into “International Research and Development in Adult Education and Lifelong Learning” and the possibility to get to know the concept of “Learning cities, Learning Regions and Learning Communities”. The public lecture “In the Making of an European Lifelong Learning Policy in between 1993 and 2020: Choices and Limitations“ will be announced separately on the homepage of the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education (https://www.paedagogik.uni-wuerzburg.de/en/erwachsenenbildung/professorship-of-adult-and-continuing-education/).

Additionally, he will organise a WORKSHOP together with distinguished European experts and researchers of adult learning and education on “The Importance of Retrospective in Policy Analysis: Revisiting the European Grundtvig Programme to Discover its Roles and Impacts on Adult Learning and Education (2000-2013)”. This workshop takes place on October 13th 2021 and will explore the roles and impacts of the European Grundtvig Programme in the aspect of the quality development of adult learning and education across Europe. The session will take place in a hybrid modus. You can either join digitally or face-to-face.
