11/01/2023From 2019 to 2023, the team of the chair of school pedagogy evaluated effects and conditions of using Augmented Reality in school lessons at European schools in an interdisciplinary research consortium with nine parters. The results of the final review now confirm the success of this international research project.
In the context of the project "Augmented Reality Interactive Educational System (ARETE)" which ran from 2019 to 2023, a team from the chair of school pedagogy evaluated the effects of Augmented Reality in school lessons of European primary schools together with nine European partners. The research consortium was funded by the EU under the Horizon 2020 research and innovation funding program.
As a project partner in the international and interdisciplinary consortium, the team from the chair of school pedagogy, consisting of Dr. Jennifer Tiede, Kristina Förster and Prof.'in Dr. Silke Grafe, was responsible for the evaluation of three pilot studies. In total, 2017 students and 213 teachers were involved in these studies. The results show potentials and conditions for using the Augmented Reality apps developed for the contexts of literacy acquisition, mathematics and geography as well as the AR authoring tool for teahers developed.
In the final review report of the project, the reviewers confirmed that the research consortium achieved "exceptional results with significant immedia or potential impact".
