Welcome to the application of the Adult Education Academy 2027. The application process is devided into two steps.

Participation modalities
The Adult Education Academy is fully in English. As it is an academic programme, we strongly recommand an English language level of B2 or higher.
Selection of topics:
Please choose a topic you would like to work on in the second week for the Adult Education Academy. You can prioritise up to three topics. Please note that prioritisation does not guarantee the participation in the selected group. You can find more information on the moderators of each group under "Moderator profiles".
Preparation of essay/good practice presentation:
Please read the following information carefully!

Part of the Adult Education Academy is the preparation of an essay or good practice presentation.
- Master students, PhD students and research staff will prepare an essay,
- Practitioners will present a good practice presentation.

Please name one country that you would like to focus on in your essay or good practice presentation. The essay/presentation is related to the topic of your comparative group and will be presented and discussed as part of the comparative group work in the second week of the Adult Education Academy.

Please note, that the essay or good practice presentation is a requirement for participation.

Choose a country that you are familiar with (e.g. where you study) or you have been doing research on before, so that you can present it in regard to the topic of the comparative group.

The Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education holds no responsibility for any travel restrictions. Please note that travel restrictions can change any time and depend highly on country-specific regulations. In addition, the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education is bound to internal regulations of the Julius-Maximilian University Würzburg as well as the regulations of the federal state of Bavaria. The modality of holding the Adult Education Academy on-site in Würzburg can therefore be cancelled at any time. Neither the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education nor the Julius-Maximilian University Würzburg are liable towards the applicants and participants for cancellation in relation to unexpected circumstances and any disadvantages for the participants occurring through a cancellation. 2 Privacy Policy
The protection of your data is very important to us, therefore we inform you about the use of your data in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation). Your data will be collected by us in the course of your online application for the participation or the receipt of a scholarship for the International Winter School "International & Comparative Studies in Adult Education & Lifelong Learning" (1st to 12th February 2027). We need your personal data, the data about your education, your curriculum vitae and the school and university certificates to enroll you for your participation in the Winter School at the University of Würzburg. We need your e-mail to contact you regarding your participation and enrollment. A contact person is needed to contact them in the event of an emergency. Your data will be deleted after the end of the winter school and after your de-registration on 30.06.2027. We will forward your e-mail address to the instructors of the Winter School before the start of the program. We forward your e-mail address to the EU. We do not share your information with other organizations, except moderators of the Comparative Groups, the DAAD, the Techniker Krankenkasse (health insurance company), the University of Würzburg and the EU (only those documents relevant for a scholarship). We take the responsibility for the protection of your data. By submitting your application, you agree to our privacy policy. 3 Pictures, audio recordings and videos
During the Adult Education Academy, pictures, audio recordings and videos will be taken on-site and online. The pictures, audio recordings and videos might be used for the projects and public relations activities by the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education.
