News at the Professorship for Adult and Continuing Education
Winter Term 2025/26
After another inspiring summer term, we are looking forward to the upcoming winter term 2025/26.
We are delighted to welcome Prof. Dr. Emmanuel Jean Francois (University of Louisiana) to the Chair of Adult Education/Continuing Education this semester. He will offer several seminars in the Master's program in Adult Education: “Leadership for Adult Education and Organizational Learning,” “Community Education,” and “Global and Transcultural Understandings.”
We also welcome Prof. (H) Dr. Dr. H.c. mult. Heribert Hinzen, who will once again offer a block seminar in the Master's program on “International Strategies in Lifelong Learning” this semester.
We also welcome Prof. Sir Alan Tuckett to the professorship, who will also be holding a block seminar in the master's program this semester on the topic of “Participation, and the pursuit of social justice and cultural democracy in adult learning.”
Furthermore, we invite you to numerous guest and practical lectures this semester. You can find all current events on our website or on Instagram as soon as the dates are fixed. As in previous semesters, they promise an exciting insight into adult education and lifelong learning and cover a wide range of topics.
Among other things, the network meeting of the Chair of Adult Education/Continuing Education will take place again this semester. On October 29 from 4-8 p.m. we would like to welcome you to the Campus Hubland Nord, the exact venue will be announced at a later date (Josef-Martin-Weg 64, 97074 Würzburg). We are now looking forward to the fifth semester of our Double Degree Master's program. We wish the students from Padua who are studying here in Würzburg this semester an exciting stay.
We also warmly welcome the students of the new master's program “Adult Education and Management in Lifelong Education” and wish them an informative semester. Further information on the new master's program can be found here.
Bachelor's and Master's students as well as doctoral candidates also have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at one of our partner universities and can apply for a scholarship to do so. There is also the opportunity to complete internships abroad at DVV International and its partner institutions in Georgia. Further information can be found under "Study and internship abroad".
