Welcome to Prof. Dr. Natália Alves!

09/13/2023

We are pleased to announce that Prof. Dr. Natália Alves (University of Lisbon, Portugal) will be staying at the Professorship of Adult and Continuing Education at the University of Wuerzburg during winter term 2023/2024.

Prof. Alves has been teaching and researching in adult and continuing education at the University of Lisbon for many years and is an internationally highly recognized researcher in adult and continuing education. Her academic qualifications and professional expertise are reflected in her extensive and successful research and teaching experience, which is why we are delighted to have her at the Professorship for the upcoming months to give students the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in the field of adult and continuing education while taking an international perspective.

During her stay, Prof. Alves will offer three courses on currently highly relevant topics in international adult and continuing education, namely "Adult Education, Gender and Intersectionality", "Biography and Adult Learning", and "Vocational Education and Training (VET) and Human Development". The latter course is conducted in a hybrid mode.

Furthermore, Prof. Alves will offer a compact course on " Adult education and gender: Women in STEM higher education courses", which is integrated into the "Adult Education Academy 2024. International & comparative studies in adult education & lifelong learning", in which she will actively participate.

In addition, Prof. Alves will host and organize a public guest lecture on "Recent trends in continuing training in European companies" and a hybrid workshop on "Researching Gender in Adult Education", in which both national and international colleagues and students can participate. Students of the University of Würzburg can receive credit for their participation for the GSiK certificate. For both events, the guest lecture and the workshop, the exact date and program is yet to be announced on our website and social media.

Prof. Dr. Regina Egetenmeyer and her team are glad to be able to offer such an enriching program due to the kind support of the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service) with funding from the BMBF (Federal Ministry of Education and Research).
