Double Degree with the University of Florence (on the signature process)
Please note: Both institutions have approved the Double Degree agreement and are currently in the final signature phase. Students enrolling in the Winter Term 2026/2027 will be eligible to apply for the programme and complete their third semester in Italy.

Qualification targets
The programme trains students in the fields of innovative trends in adult and continuing education and professionalisation of adult education professionals in the public, private and non-profit sectors. The programme improves students’ ability to look at adult education in a critical way and shape society, institutions, and organisations in ways that promote adult education in all its forms. Moreover, the programme aims to develop students' ability to look critically at the diverse contexts where adult education and learning occur and their role in these from a wide variety of theoretical, conceptual and organisational perspectives.
Language of Instruction
English (at the University of Würzburg) and Italian (At the University of Florence)
Please note: Students are required to have a B2 CEFR in Italian language proficiency by the end of the second semester.

Application
The Double Degree application is only possible after successful enrolment in the Master of Arts in Adult Education and Management in Lifelong Education.
Deadline each year for students starting in the winter term: end of September
Deadline each year for students starting in the summer term: end of March
Students will be required to undergo an internal selection process. Further information on the application procedure and deadlines will be provided to enrolled and admitted students each year by the beginning of August.
Scholarships and Funding
Students who have been selected for the programme can apply for Erasmus+ funding.
