2017

The 2017 International Winter School ‘Comparative Studies on Adult and Lifelong Learning’, held in Wuerzburg on 6–17 February 2017, also saw a large number of master’s and PhD students. About 84 participants from around the world discussed theories and approaches to be used for analysing European and international lifelong learning strategies. As you can see, the programme became more international each year. The network between the universities could be strengthened and expanded. Additionally, the programme featured direct interactions with key European stakeholders in lifelong learning and with lifelong learning organisations from Wuerzburg and surroundings. Again, one major focus was on comparisons of selected subtopics of lifelong learning in selected counties, such as ‘Innovative teaching methods for adult and lifelong learning’, ‘Professional identity in adult education’ or ‘National and international assessments of adult literacy skills’.
