Management of Educational Services, Adult and Continuing Education Double Degree Programme with the University of Padua

Qualification targets

The programme trains students in the field of Management of Educational Services, Adult and Continuing Education through an interdisciplinary approach that includes adult education, philosophy of education, educational research methods, didactics, sociology, psychology, economics, with a particular focus on adult and continuing education in organisational contexts. The programme improves students’ ability to study, work, and live in international and transcultural environments, while upgrading and diversifying their approaches to international relations.

Application

The Double Degree application is only possible after successful enrolment in the Master of Arts in Adult Education and Management in Lifelong Education.

Deadline each year: end of September

Students will be required to undergo an internal selection process. Further information on the application procedure and deadlines will be provided to enrolled and admitted students each year by the beginning of August.

 

The Double-Degree study plan is based on the Master Programme in Adult Education and Management in Lifelong Education.

First Semester at the University of Würzburg (mid of October until mid of February)

Modules of the 1. Term 

  • Lifelong learning: international perspectives and policies (5 ECTS)
  • International-comparative research in adult and continuing education (15 ECTS)
     
  • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Theories and societal framework in adult and continuing education (10 ECTS)

Second Semester at the University of Padua (mid of February until June)

During the semester in Padua, you have to choose between two versions of their corresponding Master's programme for Double Degree students.

Modules of the 2. Term for LM-57 students: Adult and continuing education 

  • Methodologies and strategies for adult teaching and learning (6 ECTS)

  • Global Cultural Pluralism in Organizations (9 ECTS)

  • Foundations of coaching for organizational effectiveness (6 ECTS) 

Selection of one of two courses:

  • Education for Inclusive Employability and Well-Being in Work Life (9 ECTS) or

  • Personnel Selection in Organization and Employee Performance: Challange and Opportunities (9 ECTS)

Modules of the 2. Term for LM-50 students: Development and management of education service                     

  • Methodologies and strategies for adult teaching and learning (6 ECTS)

  • Global Cultural Pluralism in Organizations  (9 ECTS)

  • Research Methods in Education (6 ECTS)

  • Education for Inclusive Employability and Well-Being in Work Life (9 ECTS)


Third Semester at the University of Würzburg (mid of October until mid of February)

Modules of the 3. Term

  • Working fields and professional acting in adult and continuing education (10 ECTS)
  • Media education in an international perspective (5 ECTS)
  • International Learning Project (10 ECTS)

Selection of one of three courses: 

  • Educational Management A (5 ECTS)

or

  • Cross-cultural management for master students (5 ECTS)

or

  • Cultural heritage and cultural policy (5 ECTS)

Fourth Semester at University of Würzburg or Padua
