About the Double Degree Programmes

A Double Degree programme is an integrated Master’s programme that allows students to earn degrees from two partner universities. Students typically spend at least one semester at the partner institution. Upon successful completion, you will receive two Master’s degrees: one from the University of Würzburg and one from the partner university. Both degrees are recognised and officially awarded by the respective institutions.

There are two Double Degree options available:

  1. A Double Degree with the University of Padova in Management of Educational Services, Adult and Continuing Education
  2. A Double Degree with the University of Ljubljana in Adult Education and Andragogy.

Students participating in the Double Degree programme with the University of Padova will spend their second semester in Italy.
Students participating in the Double Degree programme with the University of Ljubljana will spend their third semester in Slovenia.

Students who complete the Double Degree programme with the University of Padua will be awarded the Laurea Magistrale in Management dei Servizi Educativi e Formazione Continua from the University of Padua and the Master of Arts in Adult Education and Management in Lifelong Education from the University of Würzburg.

Students who complete the Double Degree programme with the University of Ljubljana will be awarded the Degree magister andragogike / magistrica profesorica andragogike (Master of Arts) and the Master of Arts in Adult Education and Management in Lifelong Education from the University of Würzburg.

The Double Degree programme offers several key benefits:

  • Two officially recognised Master’s degrees: one awarded by the University of Würzburg (Germany) and one by the partner university (University of Padua, Italy, or University of Ljubljana, Slovenia).
  • Exposure to two distinct higher education systems and academic cultures.
  • An international academic profile that strengthens career prospects in Europe and beyond.
  • Opportunities to build connections with faculty, peers, and organisations in both Germany and the partner country.

These courses are typically free of charge for students.

Proficiency in the partner country’s language (Italian or Slovenian) is not required to participate in the programme. However, basic knowledge of the partner country’s language is strongly recommended. The Language Center offers Italian courses during the semester, which are usually free of charge for students. The language center of University of Ljubljana offers Slovenian (online) language courses. For the summer intensive course, students can apply for a scholarship at BAYHOS (Further information can be found at the following link: https://www.uni-regensburg.de/en/bayhost/funding-and-scholarships/going-to-cesee/language-courses).
